It’s so much fun and sometimes pure delight to live in a symbolic Universe. The more you play with symbols, the more naturally you tune in to them in films, dreams, images, and truly any event or occurrence, from the sublime to the ridiculous. From looking up right when the star shoots across the sky just as you were appreciating how good you have it, to stepping in dog poop while you were hating on your life. So as we approach Summer Solstice here in the Northern Hemisphere (but we’ll happily share the symbolism with the rest of you), what’s the message? Let’s look at the clues …
The truth is, people really are more open to meeting their fun-loving, expansive selves and letting them out to play this time of year. I’m going to give you some good reminders for stuff to easily do on your own just below, and below that are facts about SUMMER MANIFESTATION & MAGIC closed coaching groups I’m running starting next week! (Round 2 starts in late July, but I’m taking right off here with those who are ready to go.) What immediately follows is for everyone. You may want to skip the M & M group-coaching stuff after that, or go straight there! So how about if we get in on the summer solstice symbolism (or invitation!) and lighten up? Seriously, aren’t you tired of what feels heavy and hard? Aren’t you sick of narrating problems? Are you done (or getting doner) with treating life like a constant puzzle to solve (that you suspect has missing pieces)? You can lighten up … by prioritizing feeling good and having tactics to just feel better when you notice the first hint (or any level) of feeling bad. It sounds simple because it is. If you respond way more often and way more quickly to the first hints of feeling bad, and redirect your focus effectively, you’ll be lighter, happier, and more joyful in your work & play much more of the time. The mood you’re in and the internal climate you cultivate determines A LOT about your external reality. You can lighten up … by rejecting every single you’re-wrong-you’re-bad-you’re-not-enough message that comes into your field or (most common) suggests itself in your own mind. STOP TOLERATING THESE. They’re not real, and they keep you down & heavy for no good reason, when you could feel buyant & light. Be a good parent to yourself and give yourself constant new messages of being more than enough. You can lighten up … by using the 3 kinds of business to keep putting down what’s not yours to manage—because you’ve noticed (you’ve noticed, right???) that you create misery for yourself and rub others the wrong way when you think it’s your job to keep in view all that others are doing wrong or managing badly and you try to convert them to your way of seeing and doing things? Your timetable and prioritization of their personal-growth or health agenda? Your beliefs about what matters and what doesn’t? (However fabulous these may be.) [PARENTHETICAL PRACTICAL SIDE TRIP: To work with the 3 kinds of business on a here-and-now level, ask yourself—when you feel any kind of bad: 1) Whose business am I in right now? (Find the answer. It will be someone else’s or the Universe’s if you feel bad, almost certainly.) 2) So what is my actual business here and now? (Or what is my business related to this topic?) Feel the relief and peace and integrity in not trying to manage and control what isn’t yours. (Yeah, that includes a lot going on in the political scene.) Then give you attention, focus, and action to what’s actually yours. Remember it’s always your business to soothe yourself and find your alignment.] You can lighten up … by doing processes early in the day and all day that are designed to make you feel good and clear and light, with your own chosen focus in view. AND THEN BEYOND THAT, STOP WORKING ON YOURSELF. STOP FIXING YOURSELF. You’re not broken. There’s nothing wrong with you. I did a series of 5 quick & easy processes for focus & alignment, all from Abraham-Hicks (find the first one here, then follow forward in time on my blog for the rest.) You can REALLY REALLY REALLY lighten up … by being in this present moment and not burdening it with a whole past and a bunch of collected facts toward a fixed identity (some of which casts you in a bad light); and not going into your head to review concepts that keep old beliefs and limitations in place. BRING IT TO NOW. Make choices about what’s here now. Give focus to what’s here now. Connect to your grounding, breathing, and five senses, which will always report to you what’s here and now. You can lighten up … by not striving to figure out what you can’t understand right now (not yet, not from your current vantage point). When you’re puzzling over something with a furrowed brow and you’re not having fun or feeling connected to the new understanding or next idea that’s on its way in, look away. Get off the topic! Even briefly. Do something else that helps you feel better in body, heart, and mind, then come back later when you feel clear, light, and aligned.
Our amazing planet is full of magical-seeming things that I just like to call the magic. Like phosphorescence that shows up in so many ways and contexts. I just saw my first fireflies of the season a couple of nights ago when I was looking for the moon. I also did find the moon (turns out the glowing insects are positioned slightly lower than the moon), which never fails to soothe and delight me, whichever face or phase she’s presenting.
Want to explore the magic and expand its presence in your day-to-day life? Want to play consciously with manifestation and get more confident with believing that and understanding how you create your own reality? Want to differentiate playing with the magic from magical thinking? [Parenthetical Hint about that last bit: A SENSE OF MAGIC held from a healthy perspective will make you feel solid in your joy, and light in your outlook on life. It will support you to use your selective attention to find what works in your life, what supports you, what fills you with awe and moves you to sweet tears or spontaneous secret smiles and outright laughter. MAGICAL THINKING, in contrast, feels flimsy (and can create false highs and crash landings) because you’re lying to yourself and making shit up—for example, trusting someone who’s untrustworthy in the name of love, or creating false if-then equations (If this door opens, then things will go just the way I want). We’ll notice and reframe potentially made-up things like “The Universe is telling me to …” and in general get real—not only to stay out of magical thinking, but to move into the actual power and magnificence available to us. You’re not being real where you keep identifying with and expect to play out your time-reinforced limitations.] SUMMER MANIFESTATION & MAGIC COACHING GROUPS If you’d like to join me and others in a 5-week coaching group on Manifestation & Magic, I’m running a few of these with different parameters from those of my usual coaching groups. These are briefer and therefore have a lower price point. (I’ll really be running four groups, two that span June & July, and two that span July & August.) THIS IS A COACHING GROUP, NOT A CLASS. You’ll learn things, sure, but we’ll be workshopping concepts and making them concrete and actionable, not just talking theory. What happens in the coaching group In the summer Manifestation & Magic groups, we’ll stir up some very good energy and and tactics to create more of what we want. We’ll meet resistance and perceived challenges that arise for group members with processes, clear conversations, and specific tasks to play with and practice between meetings. We’ll get practical and nitty-gritty and bring beautiful concepts into our lived experience, consciously moving the ways we trip ourselves up (mentally, emotionally, and through action or non-action) OUT OF THE WAY. Between sessions, you’ll be able to connect with other group members IF YOU FEEL LIKE IT to egg each other on and share sparky tidbits as they happen in real time. If you join me for this summer Manifestation & Magic, you will choose EITHER the Monday or Tuesday group and EITHER session one or two. So you have 4 options.
Each group is CLOSED once we begin, and membership is capped at 11 participants (including me, but it’s more fun to say 11 than 10). We’ll meet 5 times weekly for 90 minutes each time. After the final meeting, I’ll do one-on-one debriefs with each participant in 20-30-min zoom meetings to support you to best integrate and carry forward what you’ve gained. The fee is $369 by check and $377 by Venmo or PayPal. My preference is payment up front, but if you’d like to pay in installments, please ask for that!
